🍯 Our Sticky Love (이런 엿 같은 사랑) — Review (No Spoilers)

A prosecutor with no memory of her own life. A boxer-turned-gangster pretending to be her boyfriend to keep her safe. Netflix's Our Sticky Love takes a familiar amnesia trope and wraps it in a countryside hideout, a crime syndicate looking for her, and a slow-burn romance that critics and viewers have reacted to very differently. Starring Jung Hae-in and Ha Young, the series leans fully into its rom-com charm — even if not every part of the mystery lands as cleanly.

👥 Cast & Characters

Jung Hae-in as Jang Tae-ha
A former boxing prodigy turned gang member, now posing as a small-town boxing coach and Eun-sae's boyfriend to protect her from his own crew.
Ha Young as Go Eun-sae
An ambitious prosecutor who loses her memory after an accident tied to a case against a powerful crime syndicate, and wakes up with no way to prove who she is.
Heo Sung-tae
A key figure connected to the criminal world Tae-ha is trying to escape, whose presence keeps the danger from ever fully fading into the background.

📖 Story (Spoiler-Free)

Go Eun-sae, an ambitious prosecutor investigating a powerful crime syndicate, wakes up in a rural hospital with no memory of who she is. With no ID, no family to claim her, and no way to prove her identity, she's about to be sent off to a government facility — until Jang Tae-ha shows up claiming to be her boyfriend. In reality, Tae-ha is a former boxer turned gang member trying to hide her from the very syndicate she was investigating, one that happens to include his own crew. As Eun-sae settles into life in a sleepy countryside village with a man she can't fully trust, an unexpected romance begins to take shape — one built entirely on a lie neither of them can afford to have unravel.

⭐ Our Rating

3.6 / 5
A sweet, low-stakes rom-com carried almost entirely by its leads — charming when it leans into the comedy, less convincing when it stretches the mystery.

💬 Personal Take

My honest opinion: Our Sticky Love works best when it forgets it's supposed to be a crime thriller and just leans into the village rom-com energy — Tae-ha's clumsy lies, the nosy neighbors, the slow thaw between two people who technically just met. That's where the show is genuinely fun. Where it stumbles is the pacing: twelve episodes is a lot of runway for a premise this simple, and the mystery around the syndicate feels more like a device to keep the couple together than a story with real stakes of its own. Jung Hae-in does what he always does — makes sincerity look effortless — and Ha Young holds her own well for what looks like a breakout lead role. It's not a must-binge, but if you go in wanting something comforting rather than gripping, it delivers exactly that.

✅ Positives

  • Jung Hae-in's performance: effortlessly sincere, and a big part of why the central relationship works at all.
  • Ha Young as the lead: a strong, charming breakout performance that balances comedy and vulnerability well.
  • Cozy village setting: the countryside hideout gives the show a relaxed, comforting atmosphere that suits the rom-com tone.
  • Slow-burn chemistry: the leads' connection is given real room to build rather than being rushed.

❌ Negatives

  • Stretched-out pacing: twelve episodes feels long for a fairly simple premise, and the middle stretch drags.
  • Underdeveloped crime plot: the syndicate threat often feels like background noise rather than a real source of tension.
  • Mixed chemistry reception: some viewers found the romantic spark between the leads inconsistent, especially compared to Jung Hae-in's past roles.
