SAROS follows Arjun Devraj, a Soltari enforcer searching for the truth behind a corrupting eclipse on the shape-shifting planet Carcosa. Zenith doesn't touch that story — instead, it's a substantial second phase built for players who already finished it. The headline addition is Overlord Rush, a pure arcade boss-rush mode where you face the game's Overlord enemies back-to-back, chase a high score, and climb global leaderboards — a direct throwback to Housemarque's Resogun and Nex Machina roots. Alongside it comes Eclipse Layers, a full New Game+ mode: after clearing the story once, you restart at a meaningfully higher difficulty with new Carcosan Modifiers, extra progression, and fresh secrets and trophies hidden deeper in. Housemarque is also adding gyro aiming for DualSense, high-contrast visuals, and a toggleable slow-game-speed option — accessibility tools aimed at pulling in players who bounced off the original's demanding combat.
